I loved this book! The author's voice had me captivated from the very beginning and I just couldn't put it down! I really love reading stories written by mail carriers, but this is by far one of the best I've read. Very entertaining and unique perspective. The only thing I wish was that this was in paperback form because I would love to be able to go back and re-read my favorite parts over and over without having to scroll through a device. But that's personal preference. This was the first Kindle purchase I ever made and it was worth it!Product details

Unless you happen to be available to stop and have a conversation with your mail carrier...you might think that getting your mail is a pretty impersonal process. You go to the box alone to drop off your out-going mail and return to retrieve an odd assortment of magazines, bills, letters and the occasional package that just happens to fit inside your mailbox. I've often wondered just what my postal delivery person thinks when they drop off my mail. Does it drive them crazy when my box door doesn't close properly...or if i am not home when they try to deliver a package? Do they see an envelope that peaks their interest with an exotic location from a sender? Do they think they know me just because of the type of reading material I get delivered? Hmmm... interesting thoughts on that subject and so many more. Harvey Poling has written a book, Certified Tales of a Madcap Mailman, that gives a pretty good indication of the kinds of thoughts that your own postal carrier may have as he or she, goes about their job of delivering your mail. Your mailbox may not be able to tell tales about you; but, your mail carrier sure could. Read this wonderfully entertaining and thought provoking book if you have ever wondered just what your mail carrier thinks about on a day to day basis...you just might be amazed to find out how much they know about you and your neighbors!
This is a must read! It's interesting and makes one think about the how people really are unique in so many ways. The author has a sense of humor that is very entertaining. I'd recommend this book to anyone, it's a short read so once you start you'll likely not put it down until you finish, it's that good!
This is the first book that I've read all the way through since I was a child. A good author will paint a picture in your mind with the words that are written on the page. Harvey did that for me in the stories he told.
I read this on my kindle fire hd. It was formatted very well.
I enjoyed reading this book very very much. I am not a reader at all but I did not put it down until all 100 pages were digested in my mind. I probably laughed harder because I can imagine all the facial and body movements that would have been made by this awesome Mail carrier each step of the way as I know him as a friend.
I recommend that everyone pick up a copy and read. He really makes you think the last few paragraphs of the book. With the couple weeks I have had with my Mom it really hit home hard. It actually took me from laughing hysterically and thinking about some of the crazy things I have done in life to almost shedding some tears thinking about the people that have come and gone in my own life.
It also makes you stop and think about how you treat the people that you see every day and just take for granted. Of course what you see when you take a look at yourself might not be so nice. I even felt a little ashamed of myself. You might not like that feeling but I look at it as a challenge to better.
