Long Live the Beautiful Hearts Beautiful Hearts Duet Book 2 eBook Emma Scott Suanne Laqueur

I will admit I was almost scared to read this conclusion to the Beautiful Hearts duet. Bring Down the Stars (book 1) was delicately powerful in the way the love triangle between Autumn, Connor and Weston was depicted. We were left bereft as the last pages were written and all of our hopes for the 'right' happy ending was suddenly in disarray.

Then Emma Scott had her own life suddenly upended and I wondered what her 'after' would offer in terms of the way this story would proceed. Well, I'm here to say that Love Live the Beautiful Hearts delivers much more than I could have ever envisioned and I am awestruck at the masterful way the Author continued this most remarkable journey.

Still at the very heart of this duet is Autumn Caldwell. She is the very epitome of selfless, always finding that silver lining when even the most darkest of clouds may come her way. She's nobody's fool and more than ever, her ability to forge her way through disappointment and tragedy was never more evident. I truly admire her and her fierce ability to continue to love and forgive no matter how much that might hurt.

This book and duet has many facets that make it extremely enthralling and addictive. I found myself waiting with bated breath more than once for what would be around another corner as everyone's lives are affected by both matters of the heart and the desperate desire to simply be happy. There is a constant quest for acceptance and for absolution and timing seems to always be an obstacle. And yet the friendships that are both strong and tentative at times are the true tethers that keep everyone connected. THAT above all the carnage of love and war is the true core of this story.

As the Author brilliantly pieces together an intense story that is full of heartbreak, missed chances and rash decisions, there is still that promise of hope that the stars would properly align and every misguided thought would finally be set righted. Just like the characters before me, I experienced my own maelstrom of emotion as twists and turns and courageous detours guided me through this book. I have deep respect for the Author's attention to detail and the research she performed to make sure this story was always on point.

Long Live the Beautiful Hearts, together with Bring Down the Stars is true perfection. Beautifully flawed characters, incredible circumstances and the wonder of love come together to form a story that I will not soon forget.

I greatly admire Emma Scott for digging deep and writing a book that I can only hope will give her a personal peace she more than deserves. The amazing words she continues to deliver is a testament to her strength and courage and I'm honored that I was able to go along for the ride.

This duet is not to be missed. You must read both books! Please know that my review is deliberately vague because you must experience every bit of this remarkable story for yourself. I wouldn't and couldn't even think of giving anything away.

It is because it is that special that I happily give Long Live the Beautiful Hearts a huge 5+++ stars.

Long Live the Beautiful Hearts Beautiful Hearts Duet Book 2 eBook Emma Scott Suanne Laqueur Reviews

I know many readers don't like to read duets until both books release because they're worried about forgetting details while they await the second book. That was never a concern for me with the Beautiful Hearts duet. I remembered every moment, every detail, every frustration and every moment of longing and lust and heartache from Bring Down the Stars. I remembered how desperately in love I was with these characters, with Emma Scott's writing, with this unforgettable story of soul mates and friendship and romance. And I remember the way I was left so bereft as the first book ended. I remember how broken I felt, how anxious and stunned and shaken I was. The first book in this duet was absolutely one of the most amazing books I've ever read and Long Live the Beautiful Hearts not only lived up to the extraordinarily high expectations I had set for it, but far exceeded them.

If you're nervous about reading this sequel, good. You should be. It hurts so much to read at times. I can't tell you how or why without spoiling book one, so I'll just say that it hurt to read, hurt to reflect back on where these characters began as children while coming to terms with where life has taken them over the course of this storyline. It's brutal and beautiful and searing in ways I'll never forget. There were moments I didn't think my heart could handle much more. There were scenes that simply stole my breath away, that forced me to close the book a moment and step away to collect myself. But there is so much beauty in this book as well. It filled my heart just as completely as it first broke it wide open. This is a story of acceptance and perseverance and second chances. It's a story of picking yourself up when you never think you'll be able to again and deciding where to go from here. It's powerful and mesmerizing and sweet. There are simply no adequate words to convey my love for this story.

Life isn't fair and its capable of stealing away the most precious things. But what Emma Scott creates here with this story is a stunning testament to the fact that life does goes on. Life continues to move and we have to decide who we are in the face of the unimaginable, in the face of grief and loss and despair. This is a story about picking up the pieces after tragedy and it will stay with me always.

I so appreciate a story that surprise me, that twists and turns in ways I did not anticipate. At the end of Bring Down the Stars, I thought I knew what would happen next. I didn't. Long Live the Beautiful Hearts shocked and surprised me. It gripped me. It broke my heart and it pieced it all together once more. It reminded me that no matter how dark things seem to be, it'll be ok. Long Live the Beautiful Hearts was absolutely AMAZING. It's extraordinarily hopeful and uplifting, and it's joyfully romantic all at once. It was exactly what I needed in this moment and didn't even know it. For anyone facing anything in their life that feels insurmountable, that feels unjust, that feels devastating, this story will shift something in your soul. While this story surrounds a completely different set of circumstances than anything we might be facing, the message is clear. It'll be okay. We just have to decide where we want to go from here. We just have to decide if we want to be someone who drowns in hopelessness and despair or if we want to keep moving, keep pushing to find the light again in the After. On the other side of heartache is hope and Emma Scott and her beautiful, exhilarating, life affirming duet will never let me forget that.
